Failure to store settings for Mac users
I am one of those Mac users who is unable to store settings (and profiles). I am using FC version 2.6 and would prefer not to change to 2.7 yet if I don’t have to (but will do so if that is the best way to get around this issue). I was unclear on Torsten‘s recommendation for which new files to download and what file to replace, and where the file that needs to be replaced is located. Will changing this file in 2.6 have any potential deleterious effects? Can someone please clarify?
Thanks very much for Torsten‘s persistent Hard work and the group‘s support.

Joel,
I can't give you a clear rcommendation here. The whole Gatekeeper stuff in conjunction with FC as an unsigned app is driving me crazy. v2.6 stores the settings only inside the app (FireCapture.ini) and like you a lot of users (not all!) had issues because the app's file system was read-only preventing FC from storing any settings. That was the reason why I added an option to FC v2.7beta for storing the settings in a separate folder inside the the user_home dir in the hope that this would always work but a couple of users already reported that this isn't the case. You could just try v2.7b to see if it stores the settings for you. Please also try out executing the Gatekeeper exceptions explained in the v2.7b readme. Maybe this helps..

hanks very much. I will try those things. Observing conditions in my area expected to be poor for the next seven days so it may be a while before I let you know the results.
Best wishes.
