A paving model is a group of slabs with mixed sizes that will be used to create a paving. AutoDalle is not limited in the quantity of slabs composing the model: if you want to used 2, 3, 4, 5 or more kinds of paving slabs, AutoDalle will be able to generate a paving layout.

AutoDalle can work with pack of paving slabs, in that case, the software will find an optimal layout using a minimal quantity of packs.

The management of paving models is done from the Paving model tab:

To create your paving pattern, you have to choose a paving model among the predefined list or create your own model. In that second case, AutoDalle will analyze the model to know if this new model can be used or not.

Create a paving model

AutoDalle allows you to create your own paving model, for this, you just have to enter the length and width of each slab comprising the model. (the sizes can be entered in centimeter or inches)

If your paving model is marketed in pack, check the “Pack management” box and enter the quantity for each kind of slab comprising the pack.

Enter also price and weight fields if you want a paving report including total price and weight.

The predefined paving models

To facilitate the use of the software, a list of predefined paving models is automatically downloaded and kept up to date. This list is regularly extended with new paving models.

The notation used for the model name is:

• The first two letters “cm” or “in” indicate if the dimensions of the slabs forming the model are entered in centimeters or inches.
• The first value corresponds to the smallest dimension used for a slab.
• The second value corresponds to the largest dimension used for a slab.
• The third value gives the number of slabs in the model.
• The latter value is an index numbering the model

For example, the name corresponding to the model composed with tiles (in cm): 28 x 28, 28 x 42, 28 x 56 is cm_28_56_3_1.

AutoDalle is a comprehensible and versatile software utility designed for helping you generate material-efficient pavement designs for irregular surfaces.

A neatly-organized interface

When you run the application, you will notice an almost clear window, in a relatively simple graphic user interface, but as soon as you mouse-over the lower side menus, the tabbed interface is brought up so you can access AutoDalle's features.

Large lively-colored button icons allow you to intuitively find and access the main functions of the application with ease.

In case you cannot get an insightful enough overview on your project, the tabbed menus window can be locked or unlocked in order to fit your needs.

Advanced calculations of the surface to be paved

By using AutoDalle, you can specify the exact length and width of the area you need to pave, and based on the dimensions of the slabs used, you will be informed of the required quantity of packs of slabs.

You can exclude certain areas from your project, in order to create designs for irregular areas to be paved.

Also, you can cut user-defined templates in order to generate advanced customized patterns in a material-efficient fashion.

The application allows you to toggle between the Imperial and the Metric systems of units of measurement.
